He is a nationally recognized leader in research on HPV and anal cancer, specializing in studies of gay and bisexual men's risk for anal cancer. He is currently a Principal Investigator for a trial examining the efficacy of HPV vaccine in men. <a href="http://www.hmii.org/about_us" target="_blank"><b>Dr. Richard Loftus</b></a> is a physician in private practice at Davies Medical Center. Fifteen years ago, he was a member of the original ACT-UP New York, and later moved to San Francisco where he was active with ACT-UP Golden Gate. He worked as a researcher at the Gladstone Institute of Virology prior to medical school at UCSF. <a href="http://stopaids.org/programs/internet/" target="_blank"><b>Michael Scarce</b></a> is the Internet Intervention Coordinator for STOP AIDS Project</a>.
